Week 14 My Semester

This Semester

            In life you meet a lot of opportunities along the way. There are good opportunities, bad opportunities, and very rare golden opportunities. In the beginning you can’t really know whether it’s a good opportunities or not. But you took you chances anyway. Most of the time you glad you did take it. Just like me when a very rare opportunities comes to me as I get to try a new experience this semester, and it turns out to be a really wonderful experience for me.

This semester have been wonderful in so many ways. The reason why I said it is first because this semester I got to go to Thailand and do students exchange which is a good decision. Second reason is because I get to meet a lot of new friends from different country not just Thailand, many new teacher with an excellent academic background, and visit a lot of new places that I could never went have I didn’t take this chances. The third reason is because I get to try a lot of delicious local dish and make memories I could never forget. These are the reason why this semester is wonderful.

This semester have been wonderful in so many way for me. Because I got to do students exchange in Thailand, I get to meet a new friends, a new teacher, and see a new places. I also get to try a lot of delicious food and memories I would cherish forever. Have you took your opportunities? Or you just let it slide from your fingertips because you afraid of change? Because if you haven’t, you really should, it might change you in a good way like it did to me.

Week 12; my favorite movie

Train to Busan, One of My Favorite Movie

There are a lot of movies coming out every year in the cinemas. Some of it were good, some of it were average, some of it were easily forgettable, but there are others which can change your perspective towards life. Some well known movies industries are coming from Hollywood, Indonesian, Thailand, and Korean. Movies industry in Korea is getting recognize internationally. Part of it was because Korean entertainment industry has a huge growing fan base thanks to its K-pop, K-dramas, and K-movies as well. It open the door for me to know one of my favorite movie which is Train to Busan.   

I really enjoyed the movie, Train to Busan. The reason is because it started with a very simple premise but have a lot of actions and sad at the end. It started when a daughter complained to her father for working too much, then the father decide to take his daughter to her mom in Busan by train. The movie get exciting around the rising action when the train get attacked by zombies and the father selfishly think only for himself and his daughter. The climax of the movies is when the passenger he ignored decide to save his daughter from zombies attack, after that they make an alliances to get back to the train. Sadly the passenger have to sacrifice himself along the way, and then one bad passenger fight the father to take over the train. The movie get very sad when the father have to die with the bad passenger to save his daughter and a pregnant girl. The daughter and the pregnant girl are the only two who make it to Busan and tearfully saves by the army. These are the reason why I think Train to Busan was a good movies to watch.

I decided to watch Train to Busan because it was a good movie recommended to me by my friends. It was a good movie because although the premise is quite simple, you can laugh, sad, and felt the tense of the action in the movie in the span of less than 2 hours. The exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution all blend together in perfect sense that make 2 hours went by instantly. Have you watch Train to Busan? Well if you haven’t, I strongly suggest you to watch it.

Week 11 movie

Week 10

Many opportunities comes as you go through life. Whether you take it or not, it shape you and make you becomes who you are now. Taking an opportunities in life was never an easy decision especially if its a big opportunities and change a big part of your life There are opportunities to buy a new house, have a new job, or make a new family. There are also a rare opportunities to experience a new thing for your education. The opportunities comes to me and that's why I decided to come and do this student exchange in BUUIC at Thailand.

Coming to BUUIC was a life changing experience. The reason I said this is because I spent my high school day working part time jobs so that I could use the money to go to college, and when I got full scholarship in college I decided to use the money to do something meaningful by doing this student exchange. Another reason is because I have always had a dream to travel the world and I think by doing this program I already took my first step to make my dream come true. The last reason is actually BUUIC was the only program available at that time and thankfully its affordable even though it blew up my saving. These are the reason why coming to BUUIC was and still is a life changing experience for me.

I decided to come and do student exchange in BUUIC at Thailand as a new experience for me and I haven't regretted it for once. As I already explained I come to BUUIC to do something meaningful in my life. I also want to fulfill my dream to travel the world, and well its the only program available in my campus at that time. So my advice to you is that whenever life throw opportunities at you, grab it and be excited about it like I do, because life is good.

Week 7

Dear Anne,

Hi Anne, how are you? I'm fine over here and misses you. The reason why I write this letter is to invite you to my home this weekend. There's a lot of stuff over here, I'm sure we'll have some fun. We can visit Monas, and Ancol beach, I also want to take you to eat Indonesia food. My mom will cook something for lunch and I can take you to my favorite Indonesian restaurant for dinner. I also want to introduces you to my friends over here and we can go shopping together at Central Park Mall. 

Its not hard to find my home. After u landed at Soekarno Hatta Airport just take a taxi and say You want to go to Jembatan Lima. It's only around Rp 100.000 - 150.000 for taxi fare. If you arrive at Jembatan Lima you just turn left on the first light and just keep going straight. Then turn left at the end of the street. Go straight about 100 meters you will see Damai School on your right side. I'll pick you up there. 

I'm so excited for your visit. See you on Saturday.

week 6

Every year, Christmas is my favorite holiday foods. The reason is because first, my mother cooks a lot of dishes, such as rending, chicken soup, spaghetti, and mixed vegetables. The second reason is because my mother also bakes a lot of cookies and cake, such as nastar, lidah kucing, and kue macan. The third reason is because on 24th of December all family member would eat together at dining table after holly mass at the church. We eat and drink beverages like fanta or coke and we will watch Christmas movies on television while eating my mom delicious cookies, its so warm I really like the atmosphere around Christmas. These are the reason why I think every year, Christmas is my favorite holiday foods.

Week 5

Christmas dinner is my favorite dinner of the year. the first reason is because my mother cooks a lot of delicious food such as rendang, cap cay, steamed fish, and fried chicken. the second reason is because she always made rendang on Christmas which is so delicious and one of my favorite food of all time. the third reason is because I get to eat with my whole family around and we just talk a lot. these are the reason why Christmas dinner is my favorite dinner of the year.

week 4

The painting of La Illuvia by Diego Rivera is a fascinating painting. the reason is because it kind of describe a societies long time ago. This painting point is at the center of the painting where people wait to get their food from the man sitting on a chair. There are 3 police officers waiting to get their food. 2 man already got their food, one of them is already eat while a dog beside him looking longingly. On the foreground of the painting is 2 woman and a little girl with their backs on the painting. its fascinating because its kind of similar with the societies nowadays. The background of the painting is a mountain and its raining which give a gloomy feeling for the painting. its kind of peaceful but and the same time a little bit unclear at first, which is another reason why this painting is fascinating because as u keep looking it become more clear what's this painting really about. these are the reasons why I think La Illuvia is a fascinating painting.

week 3

A painting of Watson and the Shark is interesting. At the background there are many ships park in the harbor ready to sail. in the center of the painting is a boat with 9 people in it. under the boat is a big and scary shark. To the left, Watson is swimming and naked in the sea near the Shark. The Shark is about to bite Watson's leg. Some people in the middle of the boat are helping Watson get away from the shark. A man on the right is trying to use a spear to kill the shark. The man is stabbing the shark because its scary and dangerous animal.

week 2

Dream is my new friend from Academic Writing class, who is an interesting girl. The first reason why she's an interesting girl is because she studying IBM at BUUIC right now to learn more and improve her English skill. The second reason is because she likes Thai food and hates snakes, which is interesting because I like Thai food and hates snakes too. The third reason is because actually she already graduated at Technical College but she decided to study more just like her father wishes, that's why she enrolled in BUUIC. These are the reason why Dream, my new friend is an interesting girl.

Week 1

Academic Writing for My Thesis

With Mr. C as my Lecturer I can improve my English skill. The first reason is because he's a professional with prior experience in this subject. The second reason is because he's a native speaker from America, so he can teach us his main language easily. It also supported by the fact that in Academic Writing class we have to use English to communicate with lecturer and friends. with my lack of knowledge in grammar I believe with Mr. C I can improve my English skill both oral and writing. These are the reason why it will benefit me and helping me write my thesis next year in Indonesia.
